Welcome to the New Committer!
The Apache SeaTunnel community welcomes another Committer — Guangdong Liu. Although he has not been involved in open source for a long time, and Apache SeaTunnel is the first open source project he officially participated in, he has gained new knowledge through this journey.
Personal profile
Liu Guangdong. Currently working at iFLYTEK (Hefei), mainly working on the research and development of big data platforms, and now focusing on the research and development of data integration products.
Community contribution
- Connector V2 plug-in development integration
- E2E optimization for Connector V2
- Clean up, optimize project structure and some bugfixes
- Connector access
How to know Apache SeaTunnel
In 2022, the department was planning to upgrade the data integration products. I took the opportunity to research Apache SeaTunnel. At that time, the community was decoupling the connector and the engine, so I got involved.
I have not been involved in open source for a long time, and Apache SeaTunnel is the first project I participated in. Before that, I did research on similar products and compared FlinkX and Apache SeaTunnel. And I found that Apache SeaTunnel is not coupled to the engine, which is very advantageous. In addition, the latest version added its own engine, which is more advantageous to use as a lightweight integration platform. Maybe one day our company will introduce Apache SeaTunnel. These are the advantages of Apache SeaTunnel.
In short, the design of Apache SeaTunnel is novel, especially the excellent decoupling design of the connector and the engine, which attracts me to participate and contribute.
Dialogue with the community
Q: What was your first impression of the Apache SeaTunnel community?
A: The atmosphere in the community is free, and you can just do whatever you want.
Q: What do you consider to be the most critical requirements for a data integration system?
A: Stable and efficient.
Q: What new optimizations and improvements can you expect from Apache SeaTunnel?
A: Apache SeaTunnel lacks pressure test verification with a large amount of data now, and I hope we can do that one day.
Q: What do you expect to gain in terms of personal growth by participating in the Apache SeaTunnel community?
A: Learn about good design.
Words to the community
I am very grateful to the community for recognizing me! I would also like to thank you all in the community for your help and advice. The community encourages anyone to put forward their ideas and take action to get a result. We look forward to more people joining the Apache SeaTunnel community to prosper the development of the community and expand the Apache SeaTunnel ecology. At the same time, I also wish Apache SeaTunnel to graduate from the ASF incubator as a top Apache project as soon as possible.
